Welcome to the Gold Coast Four Wheel Drive Club.

Welcome to the Gold Coast Four Wheel Drive Club.

A short history.

In the early 1970’s a couple of 4WD enthusiasts on the Gold Coast were getting together and enjoying their 4wd’s in what was then bush.  The word spread and the numbers grew until someone suggested “why not form a club?”, and from there meetings were organised and the Club was formed with assistance from another Club in Brisbane.

On the 17th of March 1975 the inaugural meeting was held, and the club’s name was established.

On the 8th of April 1975 the first General Meeting was held with a membership of 15.

The tradition of the General Meeting being held on the 1st Tuesday of every month starting at 8.00pm is still being followed today, although the venue has changed over the years.  The Country Paradise Parklands, Nerang is now our home.

Since its inception the club has aimed is to encourage camaraderie, promote social activity and provide an opportunity for likeminded people to enjoy the outdoors and all Australian has to of

The club moto remains:

We have around 100 Full and Life members, 80 Partner members and quite a few Dependent members (Under 18yrs).

Broadly the objectives of the club are to, bringing together individuals with a passion for four-wheel driving and the environment, to share knowledge and skills through training and doing, promote the considerate and responsible use of four-wheel drive vehicles, to explore and enjoy the natural environment through organised events.
