Club Trip and General Information

  • To participate as a DRIVER in Club Trips you must be driver aware other approved 4WD Training), and have at least 3rd party property insurance. You MUST also be licensed for the vehicle and operate within any restrictions of that licence.
  • You MUST carry your Membership/DAP Card with you on all Club Trips and produce the card to the Trip Leader on request.
  • If you are no longer able to attend a Club Trip, that you had previously indicated you would be attending, always let the Trip Leader know, as soon as possible so that you do not delay the departure of others attending the trip.
  • Start EVERY Trip with a FULL tank of fuel. Ensure YOUR vehicle is mechanically sound and has been serviced regularly.
  • Ensure you have sufficient food and water for the Trip duration and for the number of persons in your vehicle.
  • ALL DRIVERS must ensure that their vehicle loads are secured, both internal and external loads.
  • EACH vehicle SHOULD have, as a minimum, a basic First Aid Kit and serviceable fire extinguisher. Guests are welcome; however they are the sole responsibility of the driver (member).
  • Recoveries are an inherent part of four wheel driving; if YOU are involved in a recovery YOU must be totally comfortable with the process of the recovery. If YOU are not comfortable with the recovery DO NOT ALLOW the recovery to progress. The TRIP LEADER will take charge or direct another convoy member to take charge of the recovery or you may select a person you are comfortable with to take charge of the recovery.
  • Risk is an inherent part of everything that we do, if at any time you are partaking in a Club Trip and YOU believe that there is an unacceptable risk involved YOU must not continue and notify the TRIP LEADER ‘or’ a Committee member in attendance. YOU are responsible for YOUR own safety and the safety of those travelling/attending with YOU.
  • Any and all personal injuries (even minor) MUST be reported promptly to the TRIP LEADER and documented.
  • Respect other recreational's rights to peace and solitude in camping areas, picnic areas, walking trails, rest areas, etc.
  • Domestic animals (pets) are not permitted on any Club Trip, Unless the Trip is specified as a ‘pet friendly’ Trip. At no time are domestic animals to be taken on a Trip that enters, or passes through, an area where domestic animals are prohibited.
  • When attending an organised Club Trip it is EACH INDIVIDUALS RESPONSIBILITY to wear/bring appropriate clothing for the planned Trip, (taking into account possible environmental changes), such as wet weather gear, sun protection (sun screen, long sleeve shirts, wide brim hat, UV rated sunglasses, etc), cold climate clothing. Covered sturdy footwear SHOULD be worn at all times on Driving Trips (although this may be waived when beach driving) and long pants are highly recommended.
  • As we are a family orientated Club, Trip participants are to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and be mindful of obscene or offensive language and discriminative comments in front of other members, especially children.
  • Should any grievance, or issue, arise during a Trip, members are to bring these to the attention of the Trip Leader ‘or’ a Committee member if in attendance.
