Upcoming Events

IMG_20241006_132321689_HDR.jpgThe Gold Coast 4WD Club runs a full calendar of trips, training, and social events throughout the year. These events are the heart of the club and provide members with the opportunity to explore new places, build skills, and enjoy the company of other like minded people.

Our trips range from relaxed day drives close to home through to weekend camping trips and longer expeditions to some of Queensland’s most iconic and remote locations. Popular destinations include beach drives, forest tracks, national parks, and dedicated 4WD parks, each offering their own unique challenges and scenery.

Whether you’re new to 4WD or highly experienced, there are trips suitable for all skill levels. Trip leaders ensure that everyone is supported, and newer members are always welcome. One of the biggest advantages of travelling with the club is the shared knowledge and support. There is always someone willing to help, offer advice, or lend a hand if needed. No one is ever left behind.

Learn by Doing

Club trips are one of the best ways to build your skills and confidence. While the Driver Awareness Programme provides the foundation, real experience comes from getting out on the tracks.

You’ll learn practical skills such as:

• Vehicle control on different terrain
• Choosing safe and appropriate driving lines
• Tyre pressure management
• Trip planning and preparation
• Safe recovery practices
• Communication using UHF radio

All in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment.

Many of our trips include overnight camping, giving members the chance to relax around the campfire, share stories, and enjoy the outdoors. These camping trips are often the most memorable experiences, where friendships are formed and strengthened.

We also run a number of social events throughout the year, including:

• Club camp weekends
• Social drives and relaxed outings
• Training and Driver Awareness Programme events
• Club celebrations and gatherings
• Participation in Queensland-wide 4WD events such as Corroboree
• Environmental and clean-up activities

Family members are always welcome, and many events are suitable for all ages.

A Welcoming and Supportive Community

One of the things that makes the Gold Coast 4WD Club special is the strong sense of community. Our events are friendly, inclusive, and focused on helping members enjoy their vehicles safely and responsibly.

Whether you join us for a single day drive or a multi-day camping trip, you’ll be part of a group that values safety, friendship, and a shared love of exploring Australia’s incredible outdoors.
